Artist Jamie Everding

Hey there! I'm Jamie Everding, owner operator and doer of all things at Everding Studio. I grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri and I don't think I will ever live anywhere else. When I'm not making art, you can find me in nature. I love hiking, kayaking and gardening. My other passion is reuse and repurposing. I cannot resist a good estate sale or antique mall and you will see a lot of the treasures I find utilized in my work. I think my life goal is to preserve the earth so it can continue to provide us with beauty and abundance. To create sustainably, with love and awareness of my impact.

I started making jewelry in 2011 after graduating from Saint Louis University with a BFA in Visual Art. The last class I took at SLU, Intro to Metalsmithing through the Craft Alliance, was the first time I was introduced to making functional forms and I was hooked after that. While I have taught myself a lot, I am extremely grateful to the amazing artists and teachers I have met through the Craft Alliance. We are lucky to have an incredible community of makers here and that is one of the many reasons I love this city.

In 2018, I bought my first home and turned my two car garage into a studio - the humble beginning of Everding Studio. Not only do I use sustainable materials when making work for Everding Studio, but I also strive to maintain a sustainable work space. My ventilation system was bought second hand and mounted with metal brackets that were in the garage when I bought the house. The peg board and wooden work bench were also original to the garage when I bought the home but needed some major cleaning up. Practically everything else was acquired second hand or rescued from an ally with the exception of a few key tools.
